Collaboration: Dresslink (Part 1)

A few weeks ago I was contacted by a company called Dresslink, an online fashion boutique based out of Hong Kong to collaborate on a blog post. I decided to break this down into two parts because A) the items that I am featuring don't necessarily all go together as an outfit, and B) because I have another skirt that I realllllllyyy wanted to feature in the next post.

I like this skirt below, don't get me wrong, but when it comes to Asian sizing, things get kinda wonky. I read the reviews and the measurement guide but I think I probably should have gone up one more size because this skirt needed just a bit more room at the waist. (For those of you that are unaware of how Asian sizing works, sizes runs much smaller than they do in the U.S.)

I think these are leopards, but don't quote me on that. The skirt itself IS made relatively well, but because it's just a tad too small I definitely have mixed feelings on it. Instead of pairing with the white in the skirt, I decided to go somewhat in the middle of the two colors and chose a faint blue for both my top and heels.

I also discovered a new spot to shoot photos near my apartment, which always makes me happy. There is this really pretty park right around the corner and I never even knew it existed. I do have to laugh though because there were some young ladies playing soccer in the direction of which I was facing and there were a few awkward stares (especially because I packed two outfits in a bag and pulled a high school sports move and changed under the clothes I was wearing - we're all girls here, so why not!)

Outfit Details:
Necklace: Belonged to my mother in college
Top: Forever 21
Skirt: Dresslink
Heels: Payless
Clutch: Dresslink

I didn't realize that the lining of this skirt was actually made into a pair of shorts, and I like that concept because it prevents a cool breeze from showing everyone in your local vicinity all of your girly parts. Also, it wasn't until I got home and took a closer look at my photos that I realized that I didn't get a great shot of this clutch. I love the color and the pebbled leather look though and almost wish I had got this in more colors. This bag also comes with a chain which is perfect because I'm all about being handsfree with my purses this year.

Check back again next week to see part 2 of this collaboration and to finally see my favorite gift from Dresslink (If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw the sneak peek of that post and noticed that the purse was strategically hidden in the photo - Hehe!). Hope you all enjoy your weekend!

  1. I liked the skirt and the way you paired it, with the top and shoes, that at first I thought were white, but then you told they are pale blue. I think the print shows leopards, yes :) I also loved the clutch, I like pebbled leather. And the color! The shorts underneath are a great idea to have the lining! I may apply this to light skirts that I have! Really great! So nice you found a nice park near your flat - I struggle with locations, but now I think I gave up!

    1. Slowly catching up with responding to comments. Thank you so much Denise! It's a hit or miss when ordering from overseas but I think I did pretty well! And keep your eyes open when traveling around town, you may just notice a place you have never seen before and have the perfect new photo taking spot!

  2. Very cute skirt! I LOVE that the lining is shorts! I think absolutely every skirt that's above knee length needs that. Gorgeous location for your photos, too! I'm looking forward to part 2!

    1. Thanks Lindsey. I love everything about the skirt but just wish the waist wasn't so tight. I don't feel it but I definitely notice it when I look in the mirror. (trying to avoid any muffin tops haha!)

    1. I would hate to be deceiving in reviews and have someone upset because they were expecting different than what it was. Honest reviews are always the best reviews in my opinion!

  9. That print is so cute! I've heard so many stories about Asian sizing, I wonder if there are actually girls tiny enough to fit into their "regular" size? Might just be vanity sizing here in the States though.

    1. I can't even imagine how tiny the "regular" sizes are. I think I had to get an XL and was still struggling with how small it was. But luckily they have reviews and size charts so you can at least get somewhat close to your size. And thank goodness for elastic waistbands!

    1. I've been on such a braid kick as of late, which helps bc my bangs are in that awkward stage now where I'm not quite sure what to do with them haha!

  11. Ha, I need all my skirts and dresses to have shirts in the lining as the wind always makes things awkward for me!
