Celebrity Style Saturday: The New Girl

Welcome to a new bi-monthly segment that I like to call "Celebrity Style Saturday".
My hopes are to dedicate this segment to exploring some of my favorite dressed characters on TV and in film.

I wouldn't say that I watch a lot of television, but I do have some shows that I do sort of, well, obsess over, especially when it comes to the outfits of certain characters. So I thought this would be a fun segment to pull some of my most loved looks and compile them all in one spot for you to see! And who knows, you may begin watching these shows just to see what great outfits are featured!

It would be silly for me to introduce this segment with someone other than Zooey Deschanel. What's not to love about Zo anyways? 1990. Almost Famous. Rebel sister says screw the man (well, err, mom) becomes a flight attendant and travels the world. Plus no one else can pull of pink and red quite like she can!

And then there is HelloGiggles,  her entertainment and lifestyle website (formed along with two other women). which promotes positivity amongst women through topics such as love, style and friends (just to name a few).
She is also the ukulele playing, indie folk singing totally awesome half of She&Him, one of my personally favorite musical groups. (Even if you haven't heard her in She&Him, I know you have heard her sing in Elf, and she totally killed that rendition of "Baby it's Cold Outside"). Here is one of my favorite songs though in case you have some time to kill and would like to check them out..

Okay Amanda, back on topic here.. So Zooey Deschanels newest character, at least for the last roughly 4 years is Jessica Day on The New Girl. Of course I began watching this from day 1, and I've yet to not be impressed by any of Jessica's looks.
Below are a small handful of some of my favorite Jess fashions, and hopefully some leads if you're interested in purchasing any of her looks for yourself. (Spoiler alert: Someone is a big Kate Spade and ModCloth fan!)

That about rounds up some of my favorite Jessica Day looks. There are a ton of them (trust me!), so narrowing it down was pretty tough, but I did it, and I hope you enjoy!

Stay tuned in two weeks for the next segment of this series, for another favorite style icon of mine (TBA)! And I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Happy Saturday!

PS- I've been trying to type my entries ahead of time, so I can post more frequently, let's hope I can keep up the momentum! (I am typing this on Tuesday and am just about finished, so yay!)

Love ya all,
Xo Amanda

  4. ONCE someone told me I looked like Zooey only with shorter curlier hair. I still cling to that compliment and hope it's a little true hahaa that aside, I love seeing her wardrobe on New Girl and I LOOVE She & Him! Have you gotten their newest album? SO GOOD!! I love that when you hear one of their songs you know its them. M. Ward has a very distinct guitar sound.

    1. No, I haven't gotten their new album, but I'll definitely try and find it free online to download! You are absolutely right too, they have such a distinct sound, I always know if their song is playing somewhere, even if I have not heard the song.
And I can definitely see the Zooey connection! I SO agree with whoever said that! I bet you and Zooey would be awesome friends too, so you'll have to meet her (and then introduce me too!)
      <3 Have an awesome weekend!

  5. Yes I LOVE Hart of Dixie! It's on in less than an hour for me and I can't wait! I actually have a post planned for a Hart of Dixie, but it's not Lemon (At least this time around). But you're definitely on the right path for the character I'll be featuring next Saturday! You'll have to stop back in to find out who! Thanks for visiting, you always leave the sweetest comments!
