Shades of Blue and Polka Dots

So you may have noticed that my posting schedule has been less than perfect as of late. But I am working on coming up with more of a steady posting routine and am going to make an honest attempt to stick to it. In the meantime, I got this pretty blue dress in a recent dress swap with an online friend, and besides a few minor issues with the zipper sticking, I do just absolutely love it!

I try not to photograph outfits on extremely sunny days, but the day these were shot was weird in that the sun was back and forth between being full out in the sky and hiding between clouds. I managed to get some decent shots, but I am not exactly crazy about how these turned out. I think this is mostly because some of the below photos looked washed out in the sun, and while I don't photoshop myself in any way, I do play around with lighting and a few just weren't salvageable.

Outfit details:
Dress: Sweet
Belt: Elle via. Kohls
Purse: Vince Camuto
Heels: Seychelles via. ModCloth
Necklace: Groovy Girlz
Aviators: Swiss Army

My question now is what sort of technical difficulties do YOU find yourself getting most frustrated with? How do you best solve said technical difficulties? Weather and technology can always be unpredictable and sometimes you just have to smile and go with the flow.

Stay tuned for some exciting collaborations in these upcoming weeks and as always, feel free to follow me on any of these other social platforms..

  2. You look amazing! As for the technology difficulties... I still don't have a lot of experience with my camera so sadly, quality suffers the most.

  4. Such a pretty dress! I love how bright and cheery it is. Difficulties.....if anything lighting would be it. That's always he hardest to control when you're doing the photos yourself.

  8. Well, you are so right, I don't like being photographed on sunny days, it's not good :) But I know someone who loves that because she gets white, can you believe it? Each person with an own thought... even a bit racist. Anyway, don't worry very much about the schedule, it will be OK, I am sure. I usually posted only on Mondays, now Mondays and Thursdays and it took me a long time to fix this! I loooved your dress, and shoes! The colors are so lovely! I loved the necklace too, reminds me of the sea! You look beautiful as usual!

  9. F the sun! Haha I hate sun as well. As a photographer, I always tell my clients that they do NOT want a sunny day. Overcast rules! Haha you look great in these colors, lady!

  11. Gorgeous dress! I love the photos of it with the blue chair! The sun SUCKS. Haha. I am still learning the ropes on my camera, so that's my biggest technical difficulty. However, I've gotten Lightroom figured out for the most part, so that generally saves me when I screw up my lighting. I've also discovered my computer's graphics card is going to heck, which has made video editing a nightmare. Haha. Thanks for giving me an outlet to vent about my technical difficulties!

We need a Bloom date soon! :) Take care, Amanda!

  14. I think you should blog when you can as if you set a schedule and you can't keep it blogging becomes a choir. It should be fun! I do have days when taking photos is quite hard. The sun can be so harsh. I too do not have photoshop so I always hope they come out good. :) I do love this dress! It is so perfect for summer with that gorgeous print!

    1. I don't have photoshop either but will use flickr editing when I am in need of lighting fixes. I don't edit any other parts of my photo but sometimes the lighting definitely needs to be brightened or dulled down a bit!
