September Fashionable Feature: Amanda from Enchanting Elegance

Happy Labor Day and I bet you thought I forgot about this months fashionable feature! I have not, and as you all know, a new month means a new fashionable feature over here at Sans Scrubs! This month I am excited to be featuring Amanda From Enchanting Elegance. Elegance and enchanting are definitely right on point when describing Amanda. She has such an effortless elegance to all of her styles, and her photography skills are beyond amazing that you literally are enchanted when viewing all of her pretty photos. If you are not familiar with Amanda, I urge you to visit her blog and instagram page and initiate a friendship, you will not regret it. Thank you so much for taking the time to be here Amanda :)

First and foremost, tell us a little about the gal behind Enchanting Elegance?

I want to first say thank you to Amanda for having me on her blog. I feel very honored!

I’m a 27 year old living in Northeastern PA with my little family. My husband and I recently welcomed our first child, a baby girl named Ava. She brings us such joy and we feel so blessed to have her! As mentioned, I have a husband Justin who I’ve been married to for almost four years now. We also have a cat named Chelsea. She’s the other little joy in my life. My family means the absolute world to me and without a doubt is my number one priority in this life. My dad and brother also live nearby and are my rocks and support system. We’ve always been very close and see each other constantly. My mom recently passed away at the end of 2013. She had a bright soul and always looked to the positive side rather than dwelling on the negative. She still encourages me even to this day to be the best I can and to pursue my dreams.

I have a part time photography business and also own and run my fashion blog called Enchanting Elegance. Both have brought me so many wonderful opportunities that I never imagined and also let me meet some amazing people in the process. Not too long ago I became a fashion stylist at http://www.sidebystyle.com/. I already got to meet some fabulous ladies and loved being able to help them! My passions and loves in life are classic movies, photography, and fashion. My mom and dad would watch classic movies and introduced me to them. I would say this is where my love for fashion comes from. My favorite is Casablanca and I adore any Alfred Hitchcock movie, especially ones with Grace Kelly. The women back then really knew how to put themselves together! I am a huge John F. Kennedy fan and even share the same birthday with him. He was able to create and inspire hope for our country and did it in style. My little slice of heaven, ironically where JFK lived, is Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I first visited the Cape with my dad in 2013 and have been in love with it ever since. We like to make yearly trips there and I cherish every single moment of it.

I feel like this is the most asked question to bloggers, but I know I am interested and I know others are too, so what made you decide to start a blog?
I always had a love for fashion, but never thought of starting a blog until my mom passed away. It was what also encouraged me start my photography business. I was at my current job that I disliked intensely, and thought to myself, life is too short for this. She always chased after her dreams and even when she was diagnosed with her illness, she never gave up hope. When she passed, I knew I had to start going after what I wanted out of life. My photography business was born out of that and also the blog. I originally had the blog attached to my photography site, but found that the fashion blog was doing so well on its own, that I made it my main focus. It allows me to have a creative outlet and also to hopefully inspire others with what I wear. That was always my goal for Enchanting Elegance, to be able to inspire people or to have them see something I’m wearing that they may not have imagined as an outfit before.

What would you say sets your blog apart from the rest?
I think each blogger brings something a little different to the table. Personally, I love having a mix of retro and modern styles that are affordable. I also have a very whimsical side and would probably dress myself in head to toe tulle if I could! Some bloggers love to be trendy, and I love a good trend too, but I always try to stay with classic pieces that are still modern, but also have a nod to say the 1950s, which is my favorite decade.

What advice to do you have for aspiring fashion bloggers?
Most importantly, never give up on your dreams! Blogging can be very discouraging at times, but try to remember why you started to blog in the first place. Take a step back and reevaluate the situation. Also, network, network, network. Did I mention networking? It is one of the most important things you can do when starting a fashion blog and continuing to have it grow. I would spend hours networking, and still do, in order to get my name out there. Creating great content is key as well. It is what keeps followers coming back and wanting to read your blog. Having good content and networking will take you above and beyond where you need to go. Stay true to who you are as well. Being original will set you apart from the rest of the crowd. Since fashion blogs are a visual medium, it helps to have a nice camera to take photos with. You do not need this immediately, but getting one eventually will provide more opportunities than a little point and shoot can. It will also give your blog longevity.

How would you describe your personal style?
I would describe my personal style as feminine, romantic, and classic. I love to get dressed up, which probably comes from my style icons Grace Kelly, Jackie Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn, Lauren Conrad, and Kate Middleton. These women are always so well put together and embody, to me, pure elegance.

What is your number one style commandment?
Honestly, to be myself and to love what I’m wearing. If you do not love your outfit or feel comfortable in it, then you will not feel confident, and being confident truly makes you look like a million bucks! Other than that, I do not have too many rules with fashion, other than to have fun.

What was your worst-ever fashion faux pas?
Oh this would have to be something during my awkward phase in middle school haha. There are many I’m sure during that phase, but one that sticks out is wearing a ton of butterfly clips in my hair. I would style my hair up, and then literally cover my whole head in these butterfly clips. Haha, I must have been a site!

What fall trends are you looking forward to this year?
I definitely love all the fringe I’ve been seeing. Of course, plaid is always a staple as well as olive green. I cannot wait to pull out my leopard pieces and also invest in some new booties!

You’re also a first time mother as of August, so congratulations! How has the transition in and out of pregnancy affected your own personal style? For any pregnant moms out there, any tips or tricks you’ve picked up when it comes to dressing for your constantly changing shape?
Thank you very much! Luckily, I did not have to buy too many new clothes for my pregnancy so the transition was not that bad. I was able to wear the clothes I already owned as long as they had some stretch to them. When dressing for your changing shape during pregnancy, look for shift styles and elastic waistbands. You’ll be able to take these clothes almost to the end of your pregnancy and also wear them after you’ve given birth. Any piece of clothing that has some stretch to it will be your best friend. Tunic styles are also great since they provide some extra length. Going into fall and winter, I would get some sweater dresses since they usually have some stretch to them.

On top of being a full time mom and blogger, you also own your own photography business (as if you couldn’t get any cooler). Tell us more about it? How can potential clients reach you if they are interested in your services?
Photography has always been a passion of mine and started out as a hobby. I loved being able to capture beautiful moments in time and hold onto them forever. I studied and taught myself how to work the camera and eventually apprenticed with a photographer in 2014. After the apprenticeship, I decided to branch out on my own and start Enchanting Elegance with the tag line “capturing life’s lovely moments.” My photography style is romantic and I love being able to use the sunlight to highlight and give a beautiful glow. I offer a variety of services from newborn, maternity, family, senior portraits, and weddings. I also can create photo books and unique gifts similar to that. I recently started making cards such as Christmas cards, announcements for weddings, parties, or even baby showers. To reach me, my e-mail address is enchantingelegancephotos@gmail.com. Also, on my website, www.amandabrezovsky.com, you can reach me under the Contact page.

Any favorite blogs you find yourself frequently visiting?
I have so many that inspire me! Stripes ‘n’ Vibes, Gal Meets Glam, Southern Curls and Pearls, Color Me Kiki, Style My Lauren, Made in Mauve, The Style Island, Pink Peonies, Wunder Bliss, Have Clothes, Will Travel, bijuleni, LegalLee Blonde, Law of Fashion, The Blush Diaries, Fash Boulevard, Currently Wearing, A Stylish Love Story, Sans Scrubs, Stylish Petite, She’s Alyssa Renee, The Blush Diaries. All of these women have their own personal style and bring it beautifully to their own blogs. I enjoy reading each of them every day. We all inspire one another!

Now that little Ava is here, do you plan on incorporating some mommy and me themes into your blog?
Absolutely! She’ll definitely be making some appearances during my outfit shoots and I also would love to even have us in some matching outfits. My mom would dress her and I up alike and I always loved that idea. I even still have one of her dresses and the dress I wore that matched.
