My Vacation Back Home

So I thought I would use vacation last week to catch up on some blog things, but for some reason, the less I did the happier I was. I think I just needed some serious veg time, and unfortunately now I'm back in the real world and back at school.

I didn't get too many outfit photos during vacation (The few days I was couch ridden, I didn't feel the need to get dressed), but I do have a lot of other photos to share and a couple outfit shots!

Part of my backyard.

There's butthead, on his phone like he always is!

On Sunday night, Adam left and my parents finally arrived home.
(They were at our beach house for the weekend).
I snapped this of my mom on Monday, while playing around with some of the camera settings.

If we are friends on instagram, you already know that I had a slight sprain in my ankle. We didn't have any crutches at our house, but luckily my mom saved my dad's walker from his spinal fusion surgery, so I was at least able to get around.

Ice, elevate, and catch up on The Walking Dead.

Come Wednesday I was able to finally start bearing some weight on my ankle. So I got dressed and mom and I did some retail therapy.

My mom wanted to be in some photos. She's pretty radical.

On Wednesday night, I went out to dinner with a friend from nursing school, and boy, we sure were roaring with laughter. It's always so great to catch up with an old friend.

I also found this while cleaning. I had always thought it was fake, but Thursday I decided to take a trip and drop some clothes off at my consignment shop, and they actually informed me it was real. So hello new, old friend!

On Saturday before heading back, my dad asked if I could snap some photos of the foliage around our house, because he would like to make it the background to his computer. So while my camera was out, my mother insisted we take a few photos together.

<3 Home sweet home <3

Our house overlooks a golf course, here is the view.

My dad and I.

Saturday night, Adam's mom invited us to come to dinner in New Jersey, and Adam was so stuffed from dinner he fell asleep almost as soon as we got back.

On Sunday, we decided to take a trip to Peddler's Village, this really cute town filled with restaurants, small shops, and of course outlets. They had a bunch of scarecrows on display, so of course I had to snap a photo with the Elsa one.
(Also sporting my new scarf Adam's parents got me from their recent trip to Dublin)

Butthead always insists on looking miserable for photos. Of course I sent these pictures to his mother, who texted me back a photo of their family dog making the same face. She said "It must run in the family"

Adam actually wanted to take a picture next to this guy. Who was I to say no?
(Notice they are making the same face.)

After Peddler's Village, we hurried back to meet our friends and headed out to Shocktober Fest. For $45, we got to do a mile long zombie run (flag football style), take a zombie paintball safari ride (we actually shot zombies with paintballs, it was pretty great), and also two other haunted tours.

All in all it was a very tiring vacation. By the time I got home last night, I was so utterly exhausted that I was out cold the moment my head hit the pillow.

Now it's time to hit publish, and catch up on all of YOUR recent blog posts that I've missed!
See you all soon!

XOXO

    1. Awesome, thanks! I was just a little lost on what to do haha! (I can be kind of computer illiterate). And I am feeling much better, thanks so much for asking!! (I'm just glad to be able to wear all my awesome boots again!).
And I agree about the bambi tee. My mom actually bought it for herself but gave it to me because she saw how much I loved it. (She's a keeper most of the time, LOL)

  3. Wow! that zombie event sounds AWESOME! Also, your mom is adorable. AND you make that walker look downright stylin' (walker as in the walking assisting device, not zombie)! ;)

    1. I just kept shooting the same zombie in the face. Over, and over, and over again. (He was protected, I'm not that mean!) And sadly my mother would not let me bedazzle, add glitter or add ribbon to the walker- that would have made it really stylish! XO

  6. Oh, this was SO much fun to read through! The photos you've taken of the exterior of your home and the surrounding grounds are beyond beautiful and picturesque.. oh my gosh! The haunted tour sounds right up my street, I haven't been on anything like that since stumbling across one in Germany a good couple of years ago now. The grey pearl embellishment to the collar of your grey cardigan is super cute by the way .. it's nice to have you back, Amanda!! :) Hope you're having a fantastic week!

Also, can we talk about that beautiful view of the golf course?! Especially with all those beautiful tress of fall colors!!! I wouldn't mind living there... haha. And that Kate Spade bag is gorgeous, yay for it being real! I watch Walking Dead too but I'm behind a whole season as of right now haha. Glad you had a fun vacation!!!
