Outfit Post: Sequin Floral Dress

Seeing as I like to keep my posts short and sweet (mostly because I think people lose interest in reading anything too lengthy-or maybe that's just my short attention span!), I wanted to share a few photos since I finally had an excuse to wear this Poppy Lux sequin dress I picked up Labor Day weekend (See blog entry- My Latest Haul: LDW.)
Outfit details:
Dress: Poppy Lux (Only place I could find to order it is Here)
Shoes: Prabal Gurung via Target (Again, could only find Here)
Necklace: I ended up wearing a different necklace than pictured above, but you can see it pictured below. My mom gave it to me, and she thinks it may be from JC Penney, but isn't too sure. Sorry I can't be of any more help with that!

It was a bit of a crummy day out, as most of the morning it rained, but I had a special date night planned in Atlantic City, and absolutely knew this was the dress to wear.

Atlantic City is the host of the Miss America pageant, and this was the night before the pageant took place, so there was a very big Miss America parade featuring all the lovely ladies that would be competing! Here I bumped into Miss Philadelphia Teen, who I am assuming was here to support her home state contestant, Miss Pennsylvania.

Here I am out to dinner at Nero's Chophouse and Sushi Bar, excited because I gambled for practically the first time (I once played $5 on a slot machine, but that's about it), and won $250 playing Blackjack. I had the lobster bisque and crab cake appetizer (wasn't hungry enough for a meal), and the food was amazing!

Hope you all enjoyed this post! Feel free to follow me on Instagram (@Amandaplease), and check back tomorrow for another weekly edition of Tilly Style Tuesdays!

XOXO Amanda

  5. Oh my gosh, lobster bisque and crab cake sounds amazing! You know, I was never into seafood before I met my boyfriend. He totally got me started on liking it. And now I love it so much I'm the one always suggesting we go to a seafood restaurant! The first time he took me to a super nice restaurant and that's where I had sushi for the first time (I'm sure the fact that the restaurant was upscale has a lot to do with me liking it initially ;)). Also, yay for winning on blackjack! The first time I gambled I was 22 in Vegas and I put a dollar into a slot machine and with a press of one button I won $75. Needless to say that never happened again haha, when given the chance I always opt for blackjack! You looked super adorable on your date night!

    1. Seafood is just the best! I think I eat more seafood than I do anything else. And I'm so excited to hear you like sushi- another fav of mine!! I agree with the upscale restaurant making a difference too, especially because you know everything is super fresh and perfectly made.
But ahh, I was soooo nervous about gambling and had to get two drinks in me before even trying. My first 3 hands played were a win, a loss and a draw. And I split my hand one round and both hands beat the dealers. So I think it's safe to say I got the whole entire Blackjack experience down. And what are the chances your first time at a slot machine winning $75! Especially since I think those machines can be a ripoff!
All in all it was a much needed date night as we both live in different states and it had been a month since we last saw each other. It couldn't have been a more perfect night. He was the perfect date and made me the star of his night :) :)
Thanks for all the nice compliments!

    1. Haha okay maybe I should have said that it wasn't my original money that I started with, it was my boyfriends money lol! I am SO right there with you about being afraid to lose money (My motto is that I might not win any money by not gambling, but I know for sure that I won't lose any!). My boyfriend actually played about 10 hands before I had enough courage (and vodka cranberries), to jump in and try. Pretty much the whole casino was staring at us, as I was a bit loud every time I won a hand. Luckily we went to one of the casinos that is shutting down, so there were only about 15 people close enough at the tables to hear me. Whoops! Haha! Thanks for stopping by, and for finding me on instagram! Xoxo

  9. That is the best dress ever <3 Sequin and florals don't sound like something that should go together, but that dress is so amazing! I truly love it ^_^

    1. Thank you! It is probably one of my favorite dresses! My boyfriend thinks it's something a grandmother would wear in the 70's, but as Leandra Medine (The Man Repeller) says, "Good fashion is about pleasing women, not men, so as it happens, the trends that we love, men hate. And that is fantastic."
